The Ocean Springs Parks & Recreation Department recently met with the GCSA Board of Directors to discuss a collaborative path forward for the Ocean Springs Skatepark project. Following this meeting, Eric Scholler, Development Officer, and Chris Beaugez, Secretary for GCSA, coordinated and secured a professional concept design mock‑up for the proposed skatepark.
This concept was developed within the constraints of the available space and is deeply rooted in extensive community feedback. The design incorporates insights from the city’s initial public surveys as well as a dedicated skate community design session, where over 30 local skaters contributed ideas, critiques, and priorities.
The result is a concept that reflects the community’s collective vision—balancing flow, functionality, and progression while honoring the unique character of Ocean Springs. This design represents the first unified blueprint shaped directly by the people who will use the park, ensuring the final build aligns with the needs and desires of local skaters and families.
