GCSA Ambassador Program
Program Overview
The Gulf Coast Skateparks Association (GCSA) is launching the GCSA Ambassador Program to bring together the people who move Gulf Coast skateboarding forward. Every strong local scene has a few key people behind it: the ones teaching kids, running contests, and fighting for concrete. This program recognizes those leaders, connects them to each other, and gives them the backing of a regional 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
Ambassadors keep running their own scenes their own way. GCSA amplifies that work, and ambassadors help carry the GCSA mission into their communities. The result is one coordinated network pushing for a healthier scene and more free public skateparks across the Gulf South.
Program Goals
The program has three goals, each tied to what GCSA exists to do.
1. Unite the scene's key people of influence. Connect local leaders across the coast so they share ideas, support each other's events, and work as one region instead of isolated towns.
2. Foster a healthy skateboarding scene and highlight local talent. Create a positive, welcoming environment for skaters of every age and skill level, and put a spotlight on the skaters who have been killing it all year.
3. Push for skateparks. Build local momentum and a unified regional voice for new and improved public skatepark infrastructure.

Who Can Become an Ambassador
Ambassadors are selected based on the measurable impact they have made on their local skate community over the last three years. GCSA looks at contributions in three areas; strong candidates usually stand out in at least one.
Youth development: Growing the next generation of skaters. Examples: Lessons, clinics, or camps run; number of kids reached; mentoring and school or rec-center programs
Contests and events: Creating opportunities for skaters to compete, progress, and be seen. Example: Contests, jams, and demos produced; skater turnout; sponsors and prizes secured
Skatepark infrastructure: Advocating for and building places to skate. Example: City council meetings attended; petitions, surveys, or fundraising led; DIY builds, repairs, or new parks delivered
What GCSA Provides Ambassadors
GCSA backs each ambassador's ongoing work in their local scene with five core benefits.
• Promotion and reach. GCSA promotes ambassador events and programs through its social media channels (@gulfcoastskateparks) and email list, putting local sessions, contests, and clinics in front of a regional audience.
• Official merch and swag. Ambassadors receive GCSA gear to rep in their scene, including hats, shirts, and stickers.
• Ambassador communication network. GCSA sets up a dedicated communication line for all ambassadors to share events, brainstorm, trade what's working, and connect skate communities from one end of the coast to the other.
• Contest qualifier spots. Every contest an ambassador hosts becomes an official qualifier for the GCSA Skatin' the Coast Finals. The 1st place winners in both the youth and adult categories earn an automatic spot in the Finals at the end of the year. A best trick format is preferred.
• Website spotlight and progress tracking. Ambassadors can share their local programs and projects with GCSA, and we will feature them on the GCSA website. For skatepark development efforts, the site tracks progress publicly to build support and keep the push moving.
How Ambassadors Support GCSA
The partnership runs both ways. Ambassadors help GCSA grow its reach and fund its mission in three ways.
• Promote the nonprofit locally. Share GCSA's mission, events, and skatepark efforts with your local scene, both in person at the park and online.
• Invite GCSA to local events. Bring GCSA into your contests, jams, demos, and community events so the organization can show up, support, and connect with your skaters.
• Connect sponsors and partners. Introduce GCSA to local businesses, organizations, and community leaders who can help fund youth programs and skatepark projects across the Gulf Coast region.
How the Program Works
The program follows a simple cycle from selection to regional competition.
Every ambassador event strengthens a local scene, and every connection made feeds back into the regional push for skateparks.
